This attraction is situated in the middle of Inveraray near to the church and is priced at £8.95 per adult. The Jail closed its doors in the 1950s and later opened up as a museum, there are several guides in character around the site and it provides a fascinating insight into the old penal system which was employed in the British isles until relatively recent times. The one thing that struck me was that for the "olden days", it was incredibly enlightened in many respects. If you struggle walking, you will struggle here, there are lots of steps and corridors. There are several hands on exhibits and a nice shop at the end. The staff were lovely, we landed late and they let us back in the following day to finish the tour.
