We wanted a quick week somewhere, so we went to Magaluf, my husband, my sister and mysel, now I feel I should say we are not night owls, certainly do not go clubbing the night away, we are pensioners. We went to the Hotel Hawaii, a lovely hotel with very helpful friendly staff, the food was excellent as well. We were there for a week at the end of April, there is no shortage of things to do and see. We went to Katmandu, (upside down house) it is so worth a visit, a most unusual fascinating place, when you go in you have no idea what to expect, and it does not disappoint. There is such a mix of things to see, from a giant size talking robot, a couple of smaller animated robots, they hold hands and the male gives the female a rose! the music is beautiful, I watched this so many times, but this is just one of the fascinating things in there, a must see. Also there is the world famous Pirate Show!!! Absolutely stunning, the acrobatics, music, fun for all ages, but be warned it is very very loud… it was not started when we were there, but we have seen it before and I thought I would mention it because if you are in Magaluf you must go. There is a beautiful walk all along the beach, it is a paved wide area, dotted with places to have coffee, benches to sit down. But now I come to the highlight of our stay!!!!!! We went out at night for a stroll, well we certainly were not prepared for it!! We walked down the (strip) all I can say is it's "different" on so many levels! There we were, 3 pensioners, strolling past scantily clad girls, young boys trying to get us in the clubs, loud music, the works!! We sat down opposite a place I can only describe as "lively ". My Husband ordered us all a vodka. When it came my eyes nearly popped out of my head the glass was like a giant bowl! I kid you not, and it was Smirnoff! Well we sat there and watched all the carryings on. We loved it! Although in the height of the season, it would have been too much by far. No one bothered us, I got quietly tipsy along with my sis as well. What a lively place the "strip" was, (we went every night after that) on the walk back a young lad tried to get me into a club, I said"now come on how old am I?" He just laughed and said well you will be welcome if you come in, I find if you are okay with them they are the same with you. We had a right laugh I can tell you . No one believes me when I say I went to Magaluf and went down the strip at night. We strolled back to our hotel at night, very mellow I can tell you! Can thoroughly recommend the Hawaii Hotel though, spotlessly clean and the food is lovely. Would I go to Magaluf again? Low Season most definitely, high season no way!
