Reasons for trip

We were visiting Falmouth, and noticed a ferry going over to St Mawes, so decided because it was such a lovely sunny day, we’d venture over to St Mawes.

As our ferry came into the harbour in St Mawes, we noticed a lovely hotel right on the waters edge, with a wonderful seating area outside. We decided to have a coffee there!
The hotels decor was amazing. Beautiful fabrics, colour scheme, sumptuous chairs, real luxury! We found a seat outside and ordered coffees. The views were gorgeous. We sat and watched boats come and go, as we sank into comfy chairs.

We decided to ask to see the menu because everything was so sumptuous. The lunch menu was fine dining, so we booked a table outside. We opted for the £29 two course menu. We were spoilt for choice! My husband had a seafood risotto which was delicious, and I had a Moroccan lamb dish which was lush. Both dishes were an art form in themselves. We both said the meal was the best we’d ever had! For pudding I had a cheese board with home made chutney, grapes , crackers, three different cheeses. My husband had a rhubarb and ginger baked Alaska with pink gin.

We were so impressed with the food, service, location, attention to detail, that we went again the following week! If I lived more locally I’d visit it most weeks! Not sure my waistline would like it though!
