“Home Website for Hotel Solaris”:http://www.hotelsolaris.gr The Hotel Staff included included the Manageress and three Members of Staff who are also Tour Guides for the Island, Jannes, Pannos & Jorges.
The Hotel is situated on the edge of a main road but has very little traffic. Most of the rooms face the seaside or the pool. It is about 1/2 mile from the sea but there is no beach nearby. It is at the edge of the town of Fira but only 5 minutes walk to the town center.
They were always ready to help with any need including booking tours on line or on the phone.
The package I had included a King Size Luxury Suite with bath en suite and cook plate, wet bar and fridge. Cooking utensils and cutlery & plates are provided upon request. The is room had a view toward the seafront and balcony over the pool.
It was very quiet during this off peak season in April so the hotel was not too busy.
The breakfast was excellent and included cold cuts, salad, many kinds of breads and Greek cakes and bakes, including sausage & egg bake, sweet and savoury pancakes, boiled eggs, three kinds of cereals, fresh coffee, juice and teas.
There is a communal inner and outer porch for relaxation, tea, coffee as well as the poolside area.
The hotel arranges airport transfers and has 3 of it’s own vehicles for touring the island with one of the resident tour guides on hand. I found it ideal because of late arrival with Norwegian Airlines after midnight. The reception is open for as late as needed by the guests for their assistance to and from the hotel.
The hotel provides a Maid Service for cleaning of the rooms daily and fresh towels.
I did not see a lift for disabled residents, but please ask.
You do not need to worry about travel on the island up and down the hillside to the main town of Fira and shops and cathedrals. There is a Cable Car from lower town that will take you to these.
