Relaxation

We had a good week in Nerja at the Hotel Riu Monica. We had visited it a couple of years ago, but decided that we wanted to revisit it. We travelled with Thomsons and it was a nice holiday. The hotel is quite large, but is very smart and has some nice public areas. The dining room has 2 levels, which takes away the size of it a little. Thre is a huge buffet at both breakfast and dinner and there is a choice of something for everyone. You can order a bottle of wine and if you do not finish it, they will take it away with your room number on it and return it to your table the next night. The hotel is side ways onto the see, so even if you do not have a room at the front of the hotel you can still see the sea. It is right on the sea front and there is a pedestrian walkway outside the garden gate. The gardens themselves are very pretty and there is a small outside pool and another one inside. There is evening entertainment for those who wish to sit and enjoy that, but there are lots of bars in the town for those who wish to have a stroll after supper. It is a very good hotel and one we would return to. Our only reservation is that Nerja seems to be extremely windy in March/April time, we have been twice now at that time and it is a bit too windy to be enjoyable as the wind has a cool edge to it at that time, even in Spain.
