Was on my own for this visit, but have stayed a number of times with my wife. Hotel London is a family run hotel on the front – excellent for 'people watching' if you have a sea-facing room – the locals and visitors 'promenade' along the front, taking the air and chatting. It's also within the Carnivale area during Jan/Feb/March (depending on year – lasts for about 6 weeks!) so you can join the throng during the processions – very lively and cheerful – without paying the 'entry' cost to the Carnivale route. The sandy beach is just across the road and stretches for more kilometres that I've managed to walk on my days-off. Fancy shops (!) vie with pizza stalls for your attention, and you can watch the informal 'fish market' in the canal in the mornings, where the local boats land their catch and sell the fish direct to the public. And there's a 'fish and chips' boat that does excellent 'fritto misto' for lunch 🙂 The queue for this shows how well it's thought of locally!
The lady of the house makes great cake that's part of the excellent breakfast offering – what I'd class as an 'extended continental' breakfast (i.e. not the 'full English' type of offering!) which did include scrambled egg and bacon, and boiled eggs, as part of the buffett. Like most hotels here, they don't do lunch/evening meals, as there are plenty of restaurants in sight of the hotel.,
The rooms that we've had have all been airy and comfortable, and there's free wifi available. The 'courtyard' rooms at the back of the hotel are nice and quiet if you prefer that to the front outlook (and if, like us, you're getting up early to get to work!).
