What a location! This hotel is right on the lake front in Limone Sul Garda and we couldn’t have hoped for a better view from our room. My husband was captivated by the boats coming and going and I just loved the view across the lake to Malcesine. This was our second time in Limone and fifth to Lake Garda and we will never tire of the place as it is so astonishingly beautiful.

The hotel, although in an amazing location, is three star standard. In some ways, this is a good thing, because if standards improved, we would never be able to afford to stay here. As it was we paid just over £550 each including flights for half board. The room was OK (well, the view was exceptional!) but the aircon was poor and the shower cubicle was comically tiny. Towels were changed daily and cleanliness was good. Wifi was good. There was a TV but we didn’t switch it on. Fridge was more of a cool box and couldn’t keep milk cool but was OK to store beer/wine for a couple of hours.

Food at breakfast and dinner was OK but not much to write home about. We could always find something to eat. We were very happy with the terrace view at breakfast and dinner, but appalled that smoking was allowed while people were eating.

There is a lift should you need it, but access to the hotel is via cobbled streets so this could be an issue for the less mobile.

Limone itself is fantastic – I think I need to write a separate post about where to eat and what to do!
