The Horniman Museum is a quirky and very interesting museum, which is free to enter, apart from special exhibitions. I loved the huge collection of musical instruments, including some I’d never heard of before, the taxidermy collection, the colourful Romanian costumes, and the wide range of African masks and other artefacts. The only downside for me was the noise from the large number of children, but clearly this is a very popular family attraction with its natural history exhibits, an aquarium (chargeable) and the current chargeable dinosaur special exhibition.
