Reasons for trip

Walking

We have stayed here on many occasions and it always feels like coming home. Holiday Inn Garforth is situated a few miles to the east side of Leeds, just off the ring road and close to M1 junction 46. A short journey by car from the hotel takes you to the railway station at Garforth. The rail access was the original reason for our choice of Garforth as we could easilly take a short journey into Leeds or take a train into York which takes about 35 minutes, leaving the car in the free station car park. The journey to York is very relaxing as it goes through some lovely scenery.

We have always found the staff at this hotel to be extremely helpful and friendly and many have been there for a long time so its always nice to return there. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

The hotel's public areas have been smartened up recently and are often the venue for weddings. Although the guest accommodation is starting to show its age now and looking slightly tired it is aways immaculately clean and is still very comfortable.

We have always found the food available in the hotel dining room to be good and the breakfast choice is very impressive, rivalling any hotel we have stayed at in this country or abroad.

The hotel is a very handy base as the city of Leeds is nearby as is Harrogate. York too, is an easy drive or rail journey. There are many places to visit in the vicinity such as Harewood House as well as Emmerdale country.
