Pleasant and efficient reception and a notably bigger room than we had in Glasgow airport prior to our early-morning flight to Barcelona. As we were to have our 12-y-old grandson with us for four of the ten nights, the extra floor space was appreciated. Usual limited shelf and hanging space, but that was expected.
An issue with a leaking sink in the bathroom was fixed (though, arguably, should have been spotted by cleaning crew and fixed before letting).
We arrived fairly early but got into the room quickly. Only minor gripe was that the daily room make-up was generally quite late in the afternoon (I guess they were getting the vacated rooms ready first – which would account for our getting in early?)
Price was about half of what we’d have had to pay for a similar city-centre hotel – and only a 20-minute (low cost) train ride away on a frequent service. Train station and ‘Centro de Commerce’ with its shops and street cafés a brisk 10-minute walk across the park and along the Avenue Barcelona. This hotel seems to be popular with families, overseas visitors – and the occasional boys’ football team! The range of food for the continental breakfast (toast being the only ‘hot’ food) was as normally expected for a HIX and better than a number of other continental hotels I’ve stayed in. Only three English-language channels on the TV (BBC World News, CNN and Euronews) which might be an issue for some?
Continental breakfast with a toaster (no hot sausage, egg ‘n’ beans as you get in the UK).
It worked!
