This is the film set from the film Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. You need to book in advance. Plenty of disabled parking, followed by a coach trip to the set itself. Once there, though, there is quite a bit of walking, some uphill although the going is slow. Each coachload stays together with a guide but they don’t rush you at all. My husband managed with a stick and generally brought up the rear but it wasn’t an issue, he didn’t feel rushed at all.
Hobbiton is beautifully kept and very well organised. There are plenty of photo-opportunities along the way and the final stop is at The Green Dragon where you have a complimentary (!) drink, either cider or a soft drink. I wasn’t particularly enamoured of visiting this attraction and only went as my daughter had joined us and was keen. However, I did enjoy it, it was great fun! On the plane afterwards, we caught the last Hobbit film and were thrilled to recognise the set we had visited.
