This 4* hotel is just a few minutes walking distance from the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport.

We arrived from a late flight home at 1.30am so the hotel was almost deserted and check in was quick and efficient which was much appreciated by our tired group.

We’d booked a Winter Sale Room online for £77 but if we’d booked earlier, as my daughter had done, we’d have had breakfast included in this rate.

The room was triple-glazed, not large but adequate, and the beds were very comfortable. (I always check out the mattresses in hotels and these looked new.) Tea and coffee making facilities were supplied and there was plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe. The windows didn’t open (presumably because of the hotel’s location). The aircon worked although it took a long time to cool the room down and we both woke up with sore, dry throats. The bathroom was fine, the toiletries were good and the shower over the bath worked very well.

This hotel scores highly, largely due to its enviable location as the only hotel within walking distance of the South Terminal. If you have an early flight the next day or, like us, are arriving back in the UK late at night, than I would recommend you consider the Hilton – and book early!
