I have been to this hotel many times. Because of a few little problems each time,I am remembered bvy the staff and often get an upgrade (a couple of times to a penthouse suite!). This gives me and whoever I am with access to the executive lounge, which is nice unless there are lots of events on at the NEC, 10 minutes walk away, when the lounge gets crowded with exhibitors as well as attendees to the events. I always get a nice welcome. However, the Wi-Fi connection can be slow and occasionally drop out as do the computers in the lounge. The drinks and canapes in the evening are usually enough to save buying dinner in the hotel and the breakfasts and cream teas are very substantial. The rooms are spcious and light with room to work (free Wi-Fi for Gold and Diamond HiltonHHonors cardholders). They can accommodate in queen size beds or twin with a few family rooms with a queen bed and a sofabed (quite comfy!). If one goes to the Boulevard, there are enormus buffet breakfasts and dinners at reasonable prices but the wine is rather pricey as are most drinks. One has to pay Hilton prices!
