Located in the village of Enstone on the edge of the Cotswolds Heythrop Park Resort is reached by a 2 mile drive through landscaped grounds. There are actually two hotels here and the Crown Plaza are the first buildings you pass after a mile. They were looking rather shabby and somewhat mar the lovely surroundings but on arriving at Heythrop Hall the surroundings have much more appeal, although there are newish accommodation blocks adjoining the old Hall. Our bedroom was in the new Archer Wing and was very clean, modern and comfortable with a bright bathroom. There are some large conference rooms here too. Plenty of parking nearby.
The main house has some very grand reception and lounge rooms overlooking beautiful gardens. There are 440 acres with a lake, waterfall, wildlife habitat, Victorian walled garden and kitchen garden, bowling green and an impressive golf course. In a separate building is the Health Club with pool, sauna & steam room and spa treatment rooms. There is also a Golf Shop and Club House Bar. As it was a flying visit we didn't use any of these facilities.
We had a window table in the terrace restaurant enjoying the gardens and our buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The friendly staff were preparing for a wedding as we were leaving and we would liked to have been able to stay longer in this welcoming place.
