Reasons for trip

Just had a really enjoyable break at Harrington House, with good accommodation, good food and great walking. Chose to do self-guiding on this occasion, but guided walks are also an option. This hotel is in the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water in the heart of the Cotswolds, and within easy driving distance of Blenheim Palace, home of Winston Churchill.

The river Windrush runs through the village and you can follow it then up over the rolling Cotswold hills to Upper and Lower Slaughter, two more villages well worth a visit. Blow a few cobwebs away and admire the beautiful Cotswold stone buildings..
