This was our first visit to Tennessee and we chose Knoxville as not being too far from North Carolina where we had been staying. We chose the Hampton Inn in Pratt Rd as it was easy to find being close to a main road. We booked for five nights so I hoped it would not be a disappointment. I need not have worried, our stay was really excellent and I could fault nothing.
We were greeted in a friendly fashion and checked in swiftly (we had booked a suite as we were staying there several days). On hearing that it was our first visit to Tennessee we were told that they would help us in any way possible to have a good time. This they did – printing off vouchers for reduced entry, advising us where to go, printing off route maps, recommending restaurants and sights and generally making us feel welcome – even the owner chatted to us and gave us suggestions.
Our suite was large and comfortable with everything we could need, including free fast wifi. Breakfast, included in the rate, was very good – I had fresh raspberries and melon with waffles every day though my husband said the bagel toppers and omelettes were very good. Coffee, cookies and fresh fruit were available all day. Several restaurants were within walking area and we particularly recommend Puléo’s Grille (10% off with card from hotel reception).
We used the pool – indoor and saltwater. We were the only ones using it so it was very pleasant and peaceful. I thought it a touch cool the first time but just right subsequently and we both enjoyed it. We hope to return to Tennessee next year and will certainly stay here again.
