Glyptoteket is a museum in the heart of Copenhagen. The collection consists of works of art from Denmark, France, Etruscan Culture, Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt and Ancient Mediterranean. Naturally there are permanent exhibitions with special temporary exhibitions and works that are on loan. The museum is preserved by the global brewing group Carlsberg and is situated at Dantes Plads 7, 1556 Copenhagen.
It is free to enter on Tuesdays, which is when we chose to visit. We were very impressed by it all. Obviously being an old building it is not wheelchair friendly and there are a lot of steps. In the centre of the building is a huge conservatory with lots of greenery and natural light. There is a small cafe overlooking this oasis, so it is very relaxing.
If you are staying in Copenhagen and love art and culture, then this is the place for you.
