Walking in Gloucester during lockdown! Plenty of choice around the city – walks around the Cathedral, enjoying the olde worlde ambience, walks along the canal with an interesting(?) view of industrial remnants, boats and new housing developments – enjoyable because it is nice to see people of all ages out and about, enjoying sunshine and exercise whilst conscientiously social distancing. Walks around the Docks provide a therapeutic ambience as the light reflected on the water is uplifting. And water reflecting light brings me to mention the Severn Way which can be reached from the Docks; this Way has been aa wonderful resource during lockdown – easily accessible and within minutes any walker can feel that they are in glorious countryside far away from the city landscape.
Walking, both in the city and in the surrounding countryside has been a wonderful experience during lockdown, good for mental and physical health – and completely free!
