This National Trust Garden was owned by the Fox family and they had 12 children! Therefore they made this garden really family orientated. On our visit here in July 2015 my grandson loved the huge swing ropes and especially liked the incredible maze! The nice thing about this maze is that the hedges are not too high so one never gets that “I’m really lost!” feeling that tends to panic me in a maze. No? You don’t get that? My family don’t either. Just me then!
The maze, viewed from above (see picture) is just stunning. The garden is huge and wonderfully cultivated so that each time you turn another corner you are just entranced by the view. At the far end of the garden there is a path that leads down to a tiny beach in the village of Durgan. We had a picnic on the rocks here before walking back through the garden. A lovely day out!
