Glastonbury Festival is not somewhere I wished to attend when I was younger, yet alone at my time of life. So, how did I end up, sleeping in a tent at night, and sitting on a deck chair listing to Arctic Monkeys, during the day? Well, babysitting for my teenage grandchildren, actually. They had desperately wanted to go, but their parents' answer was a resounding NO. What if Gran was with us? David had asked. And, quite suddenly, I was going to Glastonbury, all expenses paid. It was a job. I never expected to actually enjoy myself. But, I had the time of my life. I felt 40 years younger. There were a lot of older generation folks there, some of them with their families on guard duty, I suspect. But, a lot of oldies were there with friends to enjoy the music and experience. And, it was a lovely experience, which I'm looking forward to trying again. So, never let anyone tell you that you are too old for festivals. Just pack your wellies and go with the groove.
