Reasons for trip

Not wishing to do the traditional Christmas thing … yet again(!) my husband and our very good friends here in the Vendée, decided to do something completely off the wall and booked up to visit Futuroscope in Poitiers. We stayed overnight in the hotel on the site and woke up on Christmas Day ready to explore all the attractions. Luckily the sun was out and with a few layers of clothing we managed to brave the cold wind, but by midday it was warm enough to eat our lunch alfresco! The park is enormous and it would probably be necessary to have a two-day ticket to see everything, but we managed to tick quite a few of our favourites off the list during our visit. Futuroscope was amazing, a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was looking for an entertaining and fun day out – we were four ‘over 50s’ and we had a ball, so it’s definitely not ‘just for the kids’ and apparently since our visit a lot of new attractions have been added, so we might even try it out again this year!
