Finding Your Feet – film now on release outside the UK, we saw it in the cinema in Bugibba, Malta. It is in the great British tradition of film-making with lots of our favourite actors, excellent performances especially from Celia Imrie (loved her striptease!), Imelda Staunton, Timothy Spall (we prefer him a bit chunkier than the new slim version) and Joanna Lumley.
Aimed at the mature audience, it shows how you can find your feet again, psychologically and literally, after a major upheaval in later life. Dancing is the key, of course, and the message is clearly to get out there and do something.
There are a couple of sad bits so take a hanky, but basically it is a brilliant picture of ‘sex and drugs and rock’n’roll’ for the over-60s – though mainly the latter I might add! Great scenes of group dancing out in the streets of London and definitely a feel-good film.
