We have just stayed for 2 nights at Eynsham Hall hotel in Oxfordshire. It is a large Jacobean mansion only 6 miles from Blenheim Palace. The hotel has been extensively refurbished and is beautifully and tastefully decorated to a high standard throughout mixing some gorgeous contemporary features with the old, eg old books in our room with an old phone but a beautiful red Roberts digital radio. We had a bedroom in the main hall and the bed was very comfy, the bathroom was fab with a huge bath and a very large modern walk in shower. Dressing gowns are provided as our lots of tea and coffee and free water. The tea in Newby and the cafetiere coffee was to die for. We had an amazing meal in the Brasserie which we paid £81 for 2 for 2 course with a glass of wine each, so pricy (although my husband had steak) but was all cooked to perfection. Breakfast is OK, but disappointed that the OJ was not fresh, but the porridge and kippers were excellent. I had fish and chips from The Gun room on the second night and it was the best I have ever tasted- cooked to perfection. My husband had the cheese board and again we could not fault the quality. It was reasonably priced at less than £20 for us both including drinks, so very good value. I really cannot find any fault with the hotel and would definitely stay there again.
