While I was only able to stay one night at this resort, I made the most of my 2 full days there. The resort is only about 2 hours from Phoenix, so we took a morning flight, arriving early. I had prebooked my spa treatment and went straight there upon arrival. Their spa, Mii Amo is phenomenal. I highly recommend the Prickly Pear Body Scrub, a specialty of the region. All the accommodations are a perfect fit for the red rocks that surround the resort. They are scattered throughout the hillside and all are painted the same red of the canyon. The room category we had was the Casita Junior Suite which was very spacious for two. It’s a large room with a living room, including corner beehive fireplace, plus a small balcony with two chairs. The bathroom was very large with separate shower and tub. They do have accommodations with kitchens for those people looking to cook and eat in. The landscaping was beautiful and we could smell several plants just outside our casita. A plus was you can park your car near your casita, which would be good for those with mobility issues. They do offer golf cart pickups/drop offs if you prefer to get around that way. It is hilly, so keep that in mind. This resort is best for those who like to check in and stay put, because they offer so many activities. In fact, they give you a daily list with timings. We enjoyed breakfast at Mii Amo Café which has amazing views. The quantity of food was huge, tasty, and nicely presented. On our second day we arranged a tour into the canyon with Pink Jeep Tours, which has a representative right at the resort. I would recommend that to anyone. Plus if you are walkers/hikers you can take many trails on your own, very near to the resort.
