So good, I went there twice!! Situated opposite the seafront.

Dukes is a restaurant, cosy bar with sofas and hotel. Fabulous food cooked to order with a very extensive menu. A friend treated me to ‘Fish night’ which is held on Thursday. Sea Bream in caper and cream sauce with abundant perfectly cooked vegetables finished off nicely with local Devon cheeses including Sharpham Brie which, if you haven’t tried it, you’ve missed a treat.

A few days later I treated my daughter to Sunday lunch. Superb and more vegetables than we could eat.

The cosy bar has comfy sofas and daily newspapers and is the perfect place to relax with a coffee after a bracing walk along the seafront.

I’ve not stayed at the hotel but I’ve heard it’s excellent which I can well believe given the courteous attention of the staff in the restaurant.
