Reasons for trip

I have been on many walking holidays in various countries and in the UK but I have never had such a disappointing experience. The walks were fine but guests were expected to help with the transport.

The accommodation was abysmal.

Parc-y-Gors was a run down house with dirty carpets and furniture it had not been cleaned at all everything was stained and in a poor shabby state, curtains furniture and sanitary fittings. Beds and lounge furniture were so soft and only fit for the rubbish dump and saw no sign of fire certificates on them . No wash hand basin in the en-suite( I use the term loosely) extractor fan or heating. No hard wired smoke alarm some stairs with no banisters. No outside lighting. Bins were emptied once a week towels changed once a week and no other housekeeping,a wide variety of bugs in the rooms, beetles spiders etc, no tea facilities in the rooms. Food and packed lunches reasonable but very basic breakfast little choice and all cereals, sugar etc, exposed not hygienic at all. Had we not paid upfront we would have left immediately. I don’t know how they can charge so much for such a tip, no doubt the owners would say all the furniture has sentimental value to them and the cleaner was not there normal one.

The house is also let as a summer let for families they must be so disappointed or have low standards if they find it agreeable.

It cost about £570 for a week, it would have been better to go with Ramblers or HF.
