Newcastle's Discovery Museum is free to enter & as you enter you are struck by the bright blue & yellow entrance way, plus the imposing Turbina built in 1894. There's plenty to amuse all ages as you explore the history of Tyneside. From trying on a roman helmet, posing in a Newcastle coat, to hauling cargo, there are plenty of hands on activities to keep everyone engaged in the interactive activities. There's also plenty of interesting history, of a soldiers life or North East inventors for example. We probably could have spent much longer here but had other things to see in Newcastle. I'd come back again though if we were in town.
