This review is about a little known and free facility in Worcester. You walk along through the River Severn park which follows the river. You need to be on the side of the river where the cricket pitch is located. Set off from the bridge passing the Dragon boat racing centre on your right and walking towards the weir. You will have lovely views of Worcester Cathedral across the river. You are passing through the swan sanctuary and you may see the swans being feed from the steps. After about 10 minutes you will reach the fish viewing centre. You need to book in advance . You will be led down a number of steps deep under the river. There is a film about the fish you may see and 2 viewing windows. You will also be able to come back up and look down on the weir bypass which lets the fish move upstream to spawn. I found it to be a really inspiring experience because of the huge impact it has on the lives of the fish. You are also very likely to see cormorants near the weir.
