Whilst staying in the Cotswolds, we decided to look at local theatres to visit, and The Playhouse took our fancy, as it had Dickens Ghosts being performed. We found the theatre easily as it was quite central, and there was no trouble parking. The actual theatre is quite old, with lovely window features. It was like going back in time. We went to the bar area to get a drink because we were early, and we were pleased how reasonable the drinks were. We sat at a small table and waited for the performance bell to ring. When it did, we went to our reserved seats in the theatre. It was a pleasingly small theatre, and the visibility was good. The stage was a decent size, and the theatre set, very imaginative. The cast were young, probably about six in total, but they were excellent actors. The lighting, and sound effects were effective too. Having visited the theatre in Stratford on Avon during our Cotswolds stay, this one obviously wasn't as grand, but in a totally different way we still loved it. It helped make our New Year holiday really memorable.
