We visited Denbies for a vineyard sparkling wine tasting tour which involved a road train ride up through the vines to the top of one of the Surrey hills overlooking the valley with far-reaching views. The tour was listed as lasting 50 minutes but in fact was almost and hour and a half and could have been longer as we were all so interested in what our guide was telling us. There was a stop at the top of the hill to hear about the history of the vineyard and ofmDenbies House while enjoying a generous glass of sparkling wine. The whole trip was most enjoyable and good value for money. We passed the vineyard’s farmhouse bed & breakfast accommodation which looked very inviting. When life gets ‘back to normal’ we intend to stay at the vineyard so that we can enjoy their food and wines and further explore the beautiful Box Hill area and surrounding villages.
