This is a lovely old 1920s farm house on a large open site with lawns, garden with vegetable patch and chickens running around in the centre of Sherbrooke. There are three bedrooms with 2 shared bathrooms. There is a separate barn in the garden which has been converted into a self contained unit sleeping 4 with fridge and microwave.
Entry is into an enclosed veranda with chairs and hallway leading to the kitchen area at the back with lounge (comfy chairs and lots of knick knacks) and dining room to the side.
We were in the green room which is one of the bigger bedrooms with double and single bed but was cramped with little space to move or put belongings. We were the only people in that night and had the house to ourselves.
The owner doesn't live in the house and works during the day. I had emailed to say we would arrive between 5-6pm. We were met by Phyllis who was waiting for us. She works for the owner and would be responsible for cooking breakfast for us. There was no problem with a 7.30 breakfast which was ample and good.
We arranged to eat our tea in the kitchen provided we didn't cook anything (against the rules). There is a large food store in the village. We had misread the opening times and thought it stayed open until 9pm. It didn't and closed at 6pm in September. Fortunately Phyllis had rung them up to tell them not to close until after we'd bought our tea.
