Very nice, spacious room with complimentary bottled water. Proper work desk with swivel chair, plus armchair for ‘not work’. Proper wardrobe (with safe), and drawer unit. Kettle with tea and coffee. WiFi.
Courtesy mini bus arrived at train station within 5 minutes of my call from curtesy phone. I arrived late evening due to engineering work on railway so didn’t sample hotel restaurant (had a snack on the train – ’nuff said) but noted that, in addition to main hotel restaurant, there’s ‘Sampans Oriental Restaurant’, and also ‘lighter’ meals available in Calaghan’s Irish Bar – or a range of refreshments in the Lobby Bar and Lounge.
Good fresh feel to the bed linen and a comfortable night’s sleep.
Other facilities available, but which I didn’t make use of, are the fitness centre and the sauna.
Negatives? I’d resent paying the £15/night car park fee on top of the room charge; the aircon, when on fan, was pretty noisy; and (being so close to the terminal) aircraft noise did penetrate the double glazing (but fortunately not too late, and I didn’t mind the early-ish morning flights as I needed to get up in any case!).
Overall very good and, with the convenience of that quick and complimentary transfer from/to airport railway station/ departures, suggests that I’ll probably use this hotel again when an overnight needed here – and hopefully be able to sample one or more eating options!
