Crich Tramway Village is the ideal place to hold costume events such as the 1940s re-enactment with the perfect authentic backdrops.
We stayed again at the Premier Inn at Ripley – it was really good value and not too far away from Crich in Matlock. This year however, the nearby Cookhouse & Pub was open for us to have breakfast. It was attractive, had good food and friendly staff.
Having been to 1940s events before we recognised some faces, but the remarkable thing was they have a variety of costumes to suit the seasons. This time they had their winter coats on. If you ever visit the Tramway Museum at Crich remember to wrap up because it can be very chilly in the Derbyshire Peak District. I have my own 1940s costume but it is a cotton dress suitable only in the summer!
The event was happy and I would thoroughly recommend it.
