This local community-based swimming pool in Molins de Rei puts our own ‘state of the art’ (but currently closed to be ‘fixed’) pool in Dumfries in the shade. It’s an Olympic-size pool with a retractable roof, and a grass area for families to ‘picnic’ it’s a world away from swimming in the local centre at home. Had the compliment of being charged the 26-64 price of 6.70 Euro, grandson had the 5-14 price of 5.20.
The big pool has race-type pool entry at the deep end; does the ‘lane swimming’ across the pool well clear of the diving area; and leaves more than half of the pool free for singles, couples and family from the shallow end to just past the middle of the pool. The locals tend to swim across this sizeable pool. Two small pools for very young children to be introduced to the water (under cover, but open on two sides); and a sauna area by the changing rooms. If you want to use a locker you need your own lock device, but you can take your gear outside and leave it visible at the side of the pool (we didn’t bother as we’d only taken what we needed for the visit).
We sat by the cafe outside afterwards and enjoyed a cola and ice cream.
