A beautifully quiet place in the middle of high-rise blocks situated in Kowloon. Fairly busy but no sense of urgency, you can take your time and wander as you please. People do worship here but they are quite happy for you to be there. It is a way out of the city but taxis are inexpensive and drop you right outside. Within a very short walk is the Nan Lian Gardens – beautifully manicured lawns and typically Oriental buildings. A tiny little tea shop in the middle – and we even managed to get English Breakfast tea (with a little help from pointing and gesticulating at the girl!). There is also a vegetarian restaurant hidden behind a waterfall which seemed to be very popular.
