The last time I visited Chester Zoo I was at school. This week I returned for a 72nd birthday treat. The approach was well sign posted and we were able to park near the entrance. The purchase of tickets and entrance was done swiftly despite the crowds. We were given a map of the huge site; however there were plenty of staff members to help us if needed.
There is a lot of walking to see everything but there are plenty of places to sit and rest. The monorail offers good value and apart from seeing the animals from above it also provides a rest from walking.
All the animals are well cared for and look in good condition. The staff give informative talks to supplement the informative boards.
The facilities are set about the site; their are many places to eat plus picnic spots.
