Reasons for trip

They say growing old isn’t for sissies – well the water park at Woburn Forest Center Parcs definitely isn’t. It all started well when I took my 8 year old grandson there for the day.We floated on the lazy river – well lazily. We enjoyed the wave pool too but I chickened out when Jamie wanted to try the rapids. Jamie loved it though went round and round numerous times. After managing to get him to sit still for a bite of lunch he next wanted to try the thing (the name escapes me) where you climb up steps and get on to a sort of raft and plummet down a tube. Not wanted to be totally chicken I stoically climbed the stairs and after a short wait got onto the raft. We were pushed off and I can honestly say I have never been so frightened in my life. But so exhilarating too! My grandson told all who would listen how I screamed near the bottom when we seemed to jump up into the air and plummet down.

The Parc was extremely well organised – there was no queue to the car park and good eating places on site. A great place to go on a chilly day in the Easter school holidays – or any other time.
