Just 45 minutes from home for a weekend with my daughter and 10 female friends for my daughters hen party. Needless to say I was the oldest by far! We booked 2 lodges a small one for 4 and a big one for 8.They were quite close together so it wasn't a problem. The small lodge was basic but adequate and the bigger lodge had extras such as sauna, steam room and a hot tub which was wonderful. There were 2 double and 2 twin rooms, again adequate but we felt it was "tired". The girls (all in their 30's) tried the tree top walk which they said was quite scary, I should imagine teenagers would find it awesome.Meanwhile I treat myself to a spa session in the Aqua Sana spa which was excellent and I would love to return to. Sauna, Turkish bath, various steam rooms, indoor and outdoor heated pools. Foot spa's, water beds for relaxing and I feel sure I have missed some things out. Treatments could be booked and the therapists came round and offered some at half price as they had spaces. My daughter had her make-up done which looked very nice and products were available to buy. We enjoyed the pool which was free and had slides and rapids. We saw a red squirrel from our patio one day and enjoyed walking through the forest. There were plenty of waterfowl on the lake and quite a lot of young ones. In the centre there was a supermarket and various cafes and resteraunts. We ate out one night but were not overly impressed with the food, or price. I think this type of break could work well for a wide range of ages. Ideally take all food and drink with you and self cater as everthing was expensive. The pool was free and if you took your own bikes riding through the forest would be a must (bikes are available to hire). One thing we realised was that if you are going to use the restraunts or do some of the activities to book them on-line before you arrive as we heard from others that things were booked up and they couldn't get on to some of the activities. All in all an enjoyable break with something for all ages.
