We visited Caylus to help a relative move to France, very much in low season. We are both fit 70 year olds but we’re faced with lots of steps, stairs and slopes. The B&B/Chambre d’Hote was on four floors with stairs everywhere but was lovely, very much in the, ‘modern chic’ style. It was in the preservation area with masses of original features, near to the Centre Medieval and local sites. The village itself was also very much up and down, with lots of steps and slopes, but was ideal – enough to see, eat and drink and not over ‘touristy’. It was also near to lots of other places, including the fabulous Sunday Market at St Antonin. Should I be recommending a place like this in a review aimed at more senior travellers? I think, yes. Too many crowd to the same places, visit places with the “stairs, steps and slopes”, meet the friendly locals and explore where you can – we will be back to check it in the summer when perhaps a 5 Star review will be deserved.
Since submitting the review we have not been able to travel, so no return tip. However,”Chambre d’Hotes/B&B in Caylus”:https://www.lepetitcoindecharme.fr/ a new website has appeared for the B&B we stayed in – it is at https://www.lepetitcoindecharme.fr/
