Reasons for trip

This was our second stay having been here in September 2012, and yet again we had a lovely stay. Spiros, Anastasia and Maria are warm and friendly hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble and the number of repeat guests, from England and beyond, returning year on year is testament to all being treated as a member of the family. The hotel and grounds are kept spotlessly clean and tidy by the obviously loyal staff, all of whom are also extremely friendly and hospitable. Another plus is that there are no children under 14 and the hotel actively deters the party animals wishing to party on "the strip". The hotel is far enough away from Laganas strip so as not to be disturbed and a short walk will take one to the beach. The beach to the right of the resort, towards the harbour, is the better of the beach areas with some good standard beach bars offering free sunbeds. Food wise there are a number of good restaurants within walking distance and those in Agios Sostis will offer to transport you to and from the restaurant at no extra cost. For ultimate convenience, La Marinara, just opposite the hotel, offers excellent food at very reasonable prices and deserves to be patronised. Further afield, Michealos on the way out of Kalamaki (8 euros by taxi) offers excellent traditional Greek food and Dimitri's in Zante town (next to the cathedral) is a "must visit" serving excellent Greek fayre cooked by Dimitri's wife. All in all an excellent stay and we will return again.
