We were in Chester for a family celebration and having arrived the previous afternoon, we wanted somewhere to visit locally. Our cousins suggested a trip to the new-ish RSPB site at Burton Mere.
It is out in the country and has a vast wetland area. We had a very good walk around most of the reserve and than went back to the visitor center – it was relatively small but looked out over one of the ‘ponds’, had a drinks & snack area and there were 2 very helpful RSPB volunteers. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and recommended it to the family when we met up in the evening.
