My husband Chris and I met with friends for New Year's Eve at Brasserie Blanc in Covent Garden. We booked in advance as we obviously knew the restaurant would be full as indeed it was. We had a fantastic evening as the food was delicious – full menu was available as well as a New Year special. We chose from the full menu. I had chicken liver parfait to start followed by venison casserole. Both were very tasty indeed – just the right portion size too – not nouvelle cuisine size but also not so huge as to be uncomfortable. Cheese to finish. We had a Merlot recommended by our waiter and that was good. Our friends also enjoyed the food. Waiter was fun and efficient and we weren't rushed over our meal. At midnight the waiter told us we might be able to just about see the fireworks so we went outside to toast in the New Year and he was right – we could just see the fireworks that went high in the sky. It was a great night with lovely atmosphere and I would definitely do it again.
