I was pleasantly surprised by our Warner break to Bodelwyddan in North Wales this year. I had expected to feel too young, but in reality it was just fine (I’m 58 and my husband is 61). We stayed in a spacious garden lodge, a five minute walk from the main hotel. This was well furnished with a separate bedroom/living room, mock wood burner, sofa, fridge (with milk). We had wine and cookies provided on arrival and very nice Temple Spa toiletries in the large walk in shower. Sadly no bath. Lovely comfy large bed. Wifi worked perfectly.
The entertainment was a Queen tribute (very good) a Rod Stewart tribute (dire) and something else equally bad which I can’t remember. The best place to sit if you dislike the entertainment is the Atrium bar where there is a singer – much nicer.
The food was pretty average serve yourself stuff but considering it was a cheap break, not complaining.
We took part in free archery and shooting which was fun, plus Nordic walking which got us some exercise. The grounds are beautiful and we walked right up into the woods and spotted deer. We also went into the castle itself which is now closed due to lack of funding. The walled garden must be lovely in the summer.
I had a massage and facial at the spa which wasn’t over expensive.
I would return as I think it is good value for money.
