We planned our Yellow Train journey to Latour de Carol to arrive at lunchtime.
As far as we could determine, the Station Bistrot was one of the few eating places in the village. Apparently a local restaurant was no longer open at lunchtime. Consequently the cafe is very popular, especially with SNCF staff. Nevertheless we found a table. Family staff were very busy but working hard. So soon we had drinks and sandwiches. The latter each consisted of half a large baguette, generously filled. Other guests were eating various simple plated meals. Cooked meals tended to include the French fashion of tinned vegetables.
So the Bistrot food is hardly Cordon Bleu but clean, fresh (apart from the veg!) and good value.
