We enjoyed an afternoon of big band classics this past weekend featuring The Bluewater Big Band at the “Imperial Theatre”:http://www.imperialtheatre.net/ in Sarnia, Ontario. This is an annual event that is a fundraiser for the International Symphony Orchestra. From “It Don’t Mean a Thing” to “In the Mood,” it was a toe tapping afternoon. The band was joined for a few tunes by Anna Bateman, a Toronto-based soprano who rocked “Bel Mir Bist Du Schoen” among others. At times, the 17-piece jazz/swing band overpowered her voice, but all in all, it was a great show.
