No I haven't made a mistake with my title. This Best Western hotel is built on the site of the hotel that inspired the tv classic Fawlty Towers. The hotel has kept the original name , Gleneagles but this is, happily, the only thing that is is the same. My husband and I spent four days at this modern and bright hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room we had was clean, bright and modern. We even had a balcony which we could relax on. Unfortunately we could not get a room with a seaview but we didn't mind this too much as we usually sat outside by the outdoor pool. From here we had a lovely view of the blue sea and landscape. The hotel also had the perfect location for us – around a 15 minute walk into Torquay so we were away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to pop into town for a nice meal. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and my husband and I plan to return next summer.
