Recently stayed at this hotel to attend a friends funeral.
The hotel is very clean and the rooms have been refurbished fairly recently, however on reaching our room on the first floor and struggling up the stairs as the lift no longer works! we found that there were no toiletries, the shower did not work, and there was no internet during our three night stay.
The receptionist was very helpful and offered to move us the next morning to a better room. The new room had no toiletries! The shower worked but did not fit the wall fixing. A bunch of master keys had also been left in our bathroom! One evening we had trouble with the main door lock called the receptionist who also struggled, asking us if we had left our belongings in the room? (Well, it is a hotel where else would we leave them?). Eventually she fetched her master key and managed to open our door.
Half the time there is no one in attendance on the reception desk just a phone number to ring in case of problems! (could be expensive)
Overall very disappointed with this hotel it is obviously in trouble as there is a big for sale sign outside and although the rates have been lowered we still expected a decent place to stay. The restaurant has also been closed which was also disappointing. A true Fawlty Towers!
