I travelled with my mother, our ages are 52 and 70. As two women travelling together we felt very safe and secure at the hotel and it met our needs perfectly. Our superior twin room was in Block 4 which was quite a walk from reception. We were offered assistance with our suitcases and should have accepted it however once we'd settled into our room the distance to all amenities was no problem at all. The hotel may be big but it wasn't difficult to find the facilities. There are sloped areas and steps throughout the complex however there are lifts and automatic doors too. We used the stairs to get to the restaurant 'Las Palmeras' however it was accessible by lift. Fortunately the air conditioning was in use in May however I was still hot with it on the lowest setting. I should have had it checked but didn't (my fault). Our room was cleaned daily and we enjoyed fluffy bath robes, some complimentary toiletries and free Wi-Fi (guests in standard rooms could access this in reception). There was a fridge and a safe (3 €/day) and although a coffee maker was provided we'd have found a kettle more useful and we were glad we'd taken our own. It was our first time staying All Inclusive (First Choice) and we loved it. The breakfast, lunch and evening meal was always fresh, varied, colourful, tempting and delicious. I was particularly pleased that plates were cleared from tables promptly and then scraped and stacked behind neat screens. I dislike it when that's done just feet from where you're eating. We enjoyed our daily wine and 'bubbles' and soon got into the holiday mood. Incidentally fresh water was always available from all of the bar areas and in the restaurant.
Staff in all areas of the hotel greeted us each day and they were very approachable. The gardens were constantly being tended to and the grounds were immaculate. We both thought that the animation team was excellent and they didn't trouble you to join in with activities if it was obvious your book was more important! They worked extremely hard day and night and their shows were of a high standard.
We took a 40 minute walk along the promenade most days to a local cafe/bar where we watched the world go by. We used the free bus into Costa Teguise town (Las Cucharas beach) once and then walked back to our hotel. The promenade walk is clean, well maintained and is also used by cyclists. We look forward to visiting the Barceló Lanzarote Resort again, it was great value for money.
