To get the best view of the Rockies ahead and Banff town below take the 8-minute journey up Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola. It’s a lovely ride up, but not for the faint hearted or those afraid of heights – it’s steep and very high!!

The gondola is located about a five-minute drive from the town centre and there are Roam Public Transport buses that take you straight to the entrance (a one-day Roam pass is just CAN$2 or CAN$1 for over 65s).

Once at the top you can take time to explore every angle and view available. A 10-minute walk along a steady broadwalk takes you to the Sanson’s Peak and gives the best views. Back at the main gondola station you can enjoy a hot drink huddled around a fire pit at the rooftop bar! There’s also an interpretation centre offering information and insight in the mountain and surrounds.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ride and time spent at the summit.
