Reasons for trip

If you love turtles then Bald Head Island is for you. Bald Head Island is nationally recognized for its sea turtle nesting activity. You can reach this subtropical island only by passenger ferry or private vessel.

Bald Head Island, historically Smith Island, is a village located on the east side of the Cape Fear River in Brunswick County, North Carolina. Compared to the city of Wilmington to the north, the village of Bald Head Island is small and somewhat remote. There are few cars on the island; instead, residents drive modified electric golf carts – which is great fun. We rented a house that respects the natural beauty of the surroundings.& explored untouched acres of beach, marsh & maritime forest preserves. There is 12,000 acres of exploring to do including Old Baldy which is a lighthouse on the island.
